Yacht Blast For Kids Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Each boat captain can decide if they would like to do this or not. The families will not be expecting any snacks or refreshments but you're more than welcome to provide them.
Families are instructed to not bring anything to eat on board without asking for permission from the boat captain. We promise to avoid cheese balls on your boat!
If you have life jackets available - we would greatly appreciate you allowing the wish families to use them. However, we do ask families to bring their own if they have them, and the Yacht Blast committee has purchased additional life jackets as well.
As a reminder, all children the age of twelve or under are required to wear a PFD per US Coast Guard regulations. It will be left to the Captain’s discretion to require other passengers to wear PFD’s if deemed necessary.
Boat assignments are determined on site - when the wish families arrive. So, unfortunately we are unable to provide information ahead of time of exactly who, or how many people will be on your boat.
There are no expectations for decorations. Depending on your arrival time, we may provide you with a sponsor sign or Yacht Blast signage to put on your boat. Beyond that, many captains to have a good time decorating their vessels. This is totally up to the individual boat owners.
No gifts are expected. There are lots of fun activities for the families to enjoy before and after the boat rides.
If you have something special you'd enjoy sharing with the wish kid and/or their family you are more than welcome to.
Captain Schedule:
11am — Captain’s meeting
11-11:30am — Wish families arrive
11:30-1pm — Lunch, bounce house, magician & more!
1pm — Load boats
1-1:45pm —Boat rides begin
1:45pm — Boats meet with police & fire boats
2:45pm — Boats return to the MYC
3:25pm — Packer game viewing party
An adequate amount dock hands will be at the Milwaukee Yacht Club face dock helping boaters. We anticipate ten minutes to load/unload passengers. 3 to 4 boats will be allowed to dock at one time for pick up and drop off of passengers. Also, Boat owners may use MYC, C or D Docks for boarding.
