 ABOUT YACHT BLAST FOR KIDS

Since its Inception in 2009, Yacht Blast for Kids has granted 231 wishes for deserving wish children through Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin. Typically, nearly 40 Make-A-Wish kids and their families are invited out on some of Milwaukee's most premier  yachts for a amazing morning on the water - followed by an afternoon picnic with games, raffles, auctions, face painting and more.

In 2020, the event looked much different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to forego inviting wish kids and their families on the boats and instead focused on a fun, community boat parade. More than 60 boats joined us in the marina and floated up and down the Milwaukee river for all to enjoy.

We look forward to welcoming back wish kids and their families in 2021 for a fun boat ride and then joining together at the Milwaukee Yacht Club for a picnic with fun activities, and watching the Packers play!

 ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH

Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin grants wishes to children 2.5-18 years old, who are living with critical illnesses. Since their founding in 1984, more than 7,300 children and their families throughout the state have experienced the life-changing power of a wish.

These are unprecedented times for us all. The health and safety of all Make-A-Wish constituents, including wish families and partners, is the priority. At this time, due to current medical and public concerns, Make-A-Wish America postponed all wish travel, as well as wish kid participation in all activities and events related to Make-A-Wish that involve large gatherings (e.g. large scale wish granting events, theme parks, etc.) until further notice.

In Wisconsin, more than 460 wish kids are waiting for their wish to be granted. The Make-A-Wish staff are hard at work, granting the wishes that can be fulfilled at this time and preparing for the many wishes that will need to be granted once we are through this season.

A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their critical illnesses. For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses. Doctors, nurses and other health professionals say, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better emotionally and even physically. You can help change a child's life by participating in Yacht Blast For Kids.
